private driving instructor singapore

In regards to your practical driving, you have the choices of deciding on school driving instructors or private driving instructors.
A main reason why many people choose private driving instructors often is the cost factor. In Singapore, you can take your driving lessons in any of the driving centres here: Bukit Batok driving centre, Comfort driving centre (ubi driving centre) and Woodlands driving centre.

You’ll be paying just SGD$45 per 90 minutes session (from what I check up on the internet some private approved driving instructors are providing lower rates) with a private driving instructor. And with the same driving instructor (private), you will get better pointers in terms of correcting your bad driving habits, which generally increases your chances of passing.

With the mainadvantage of getting a private driving instructor being the cost factor, the subsequent challenge you’ve is to hire the suitable private driving instructor to prepare you for your practical test.

When you hire and utilize a private driving instructor the first time, there’s a one-time SGD$60 (industry average) as registration fee. The problem lies herein, let’s say you spend the $60 registration fee and doesn’t get the right private driving instructor? You find yourself paying the registration fees for a new private driving instructor again (and you face the identical risks still).
What we do
in Kukudrivers is to utilize a pool of private driving instructors who’re good and come strongly recommended. With regards to this, one man’s meat can be another’s posion.
Things to cover / learn in Basic Theory Test / Exam?

We strongly suggest you acquire the Basic Theory of Driving – The Official Handbook from the school ( it comes as a package with the Final Theory Test handbook) when you book for your Basic Theory Test.
Areas:
Introduction to driving (in Singapore), different classes of driving licenses
Singapore Road Signs and Signals (you literally
have to memorise all these)
Singapore Traffic Rules and Regulations (again just pure memorisation)
Code of Conduct on the road
Parts and Control of A Car (Basic)
And other nitty gritty details which we will not cover here.
As you clear your Basic Theory Test (you’ll get your results on the spot with a print out), your Basic Theory Test “Pass Results” stays with you for a lifetime.
This means, you can proceed to do the next 2 steps (together if you want)
1.
Obtain a Provisional Driving License (PDL) – this enables you to learn practical lessons on the roads with a certified driving instructor. Without the PDL, you can’t book for your driving lessons
2. Book your Final Theory Test date. You definitely
have to clear your Basic Theory Test Date before booking for your Final Theory Test Date.
We will assist you to clear your Basic Theory Test (BTT) with ease. The Final Theory Test is really a lot trickier than the Basic Theory Test meaning you will be supposed to understand how a manual car work (clutch, brakes and accelerator) together with the different gears.

If you are opting for the auto car license (Class 3A), you have to clear the same Final Theory Test taken by Class 3 students (Manual and Auto).
Tips:
We actually feel it’s easier for you to attend at least 1 to 2 practical lessons with a manual or auto car FIRST before taking the FTT. This will provide you a much better appreciation of the use of the clutch-brake-accelerator combination together with the gear. Quite a lot of questions in the FTT covers this.
Pay attention to how the FTT focuses on drink driving. Applies plenty of commonsense and you can clear a lot of such questions. Essentially never drive after drinking!
Areas covered in the Final Theory Test:
Introduction – safe driving
Operation of vehicle controls. This covers
the various fuctions on clutch, brake, accelerator and gears for example.
Basic Driving Techniques covering different safety aspects of driving.
Techniques in driving in traffic. Driving uphill and downhide
and other details on navigating the traffic.

When taking your Singapore driving license, you can hire a private driving instructor for your practical tests at the same time while studying for your basic theory test and final theory test. Check out the Traffic Police Singapore website for other details.
